Chasing The Black Label With Johnnie Walker

We have been sticking pretty tight with our whiskeys and bourbons during the first sixteen podcasts and review of beverages.    We have kept those spirits within North America but we realize there is a lot of great selections on both sides of the ponds..  Well this review takes us over to Scotland for our first review of scotch whisky with Johnnie Walker Black.    As we take a review of this scotch, we learn that one of the hosts has never been a fan of scotch, one was a drinker in his younger age and both have the same appreciation of quotes from the movie Swingers with scotch..

We do talk more about this scotch during the podcast, give our bad Scottish accents (and when we say we, we mean Rob) and give our movie references of great scotch moments.   What we briefly cover can easily be heard during the podcast but this blog is going to be giving some love to an earlier time in my life when I enjoyed scotch and used this phrase quite often when I did..  “I’ll have a scotch on the rocks, please. Any scotch will do, as long as it’s not a blend, of course. Single malt, Glen Livet, Glen Galley, perhaps, any Glen”, if you had ever watched the movie swingers you would know that Mike (played by Jon Favreau) used that line to attempt to be suave when he was drinking.    While Johnnie Walker Black wasn’t included in that reference line, it was one again introduced but not appreciated at a young age.   I thought everything revolved around a Glen and that was my main course of action.   But then again lets face it, I was still in college and broke so really those Glen’s could been the Keystone Light in comparison to a Johnnie Walker line of scotch (when it came to cost for a younger age bottle).

At the end of the day with this recording, Eric was introduced to a scotch that he really enjoyed and one that we have had again since the recording.  Now only if we can get that blue bottle into the recording stables, then we will be living the high life.    We did enjoy having a lot of viewers on our periscope line (sponsored by Hotel Tango).   We do love our sponsors and want you to learn more about them..   If you want to learn more about them, please click on the individual links below or feel free to click on the sponsor’s link at the top right corner of our webpage.  You can find each of their website, facebook and twitter links.
