1792 Is Excitement In Kentucky

You never know what you are going to get until you open up a bottle and give it a sip to experience something new.   Well, we have added a bottle of 1792 to our extensive whiskey collection and introduced another whiskey to both of the hosts.   What makes 1792 so special?   Could it be the year that Kentucky joined the United States?   Could it be a spirit that made Rob both laugh and cry at the same time?   Could it be the moment that Eric learned something new about the state he calls home (that would be Indiana, not Kentucky)..    Well all of those questions can be answered during this great podcast from Whiskey On The Rails.  Train..  Train..

Well who knows what we are going to talk about today when it comes to our teaser blog for our most recent whiskey.    Well I guess we gotta talk about the overall naming convention of the 1792 small batch bourbon.    Old whiskey logic says, if you learn more about you are drinking, you will discover some history in every single bottle.   Well I am not sure if that is whiskey logic or general wisdom that both of the hosts are saying but either way there is a lot of validity in that statement and this 1792 bottle.

For those who don’t know, 1792 is the year that Kentucky joined the United States (24 years before Indiana joined) and has laid its claim for a variety of great things..   Most importantly some outstanding whiskey that flows like rivers in the state but they also have a lot of exciting events that people flock hundreds of miles to experience every single year.    While we could start by saying some awesome sporting events (i.e Kentucky Derby for starters) but really for every single event there seems to be a great whiskey experienced tied to it.    Kentucky Derby = Mint Julips..   I think we rest our case..

What we are looking forward to doing in the next month or so is our next venture down to the Bourbon Trail.   Whether it is laying camp in one specific center and venturing out OR taking in a bus experience and let somebody else drive while we fully enjoy the spirits; either way you can’t go wrong.   What we have asked our friends and followers over the past year has been a simple question, if you could choose one distillery to enjoy for the entire day, what would it be?    Hmmm, see that is a good question..  One that we won’t answer on this blog or podcast but one that we will certainly answer in a future podcast.

As always, we gotta thank our sponsors because without them we would be two guys with nothing to drink, nothing to drink out of and more importantly nothing to keep our drinks cold.   If you want to learn more about them, please click on the individual links below or feel free to click on the sponsor’s link at the top right corner of our webpage.  You can find each of their website, facebook and twitter links.
