When we started this journey, we hoping that we could fuel our fun with an array of new whiskeys. We started our initial podcast with a rye and only felt it was fitting to finish out a years worth of podcasts with a rye. We took down our bottle of Pikesville Rye and fired up another 5 Vegas cigar from Cigars International and we took off. When we mixed “The Brick” and “The Rye”, did we have a winning combination? Check out our podcast and find out.. Train.. Train..
This would be our 52nd podcast that we have released on Whiskey On The Rails. So it is a years worth of fun, years worth of whiskeys and more importantly a years worth of toasts between friends. Our entire goal within this podcast was to have fun and try new whiskey’s on the way. Our first whiskey we reviewed in this podcast series was an Alberta Rye. It was the first of a few rye’s that we have tasted but it was the first rye that Eric had got to experience. It was one that Rob had enjoyed during a local whiskey dinner at one of our favorite establishments.
Alberta Rye might have started our rye experience but we set our own bar with Bulleit Rye that we had within our first 15 podcasts. This rye had really set the bar when we measured it against other rye’s that we have tasted. Sure we put it up against the original Alberta Rye and Knob Creek Rye and they couldn’t hold a glass to Bulleit Rye. Yes, we want to put out that disclaimer that everybody has their own drinking enjoyment and might think different which is totally cool.. We kept Bulleit on the top until we brought in this Pikesville Rye.
Are you curious why? Well we can easily say, listen to the podcast. Actually I think we are going to say that but don’t take our word on it.. Go out and find yourself some of this and give us your response. We aren’t experts by any means and if you think there is a better Rye out there, let us know. We will gladly try out that whiskey and give you our two cents. I mean, we are willing to drink one for the great good of our community.
Now, we have said it before and we will keep saying it again. We are so very greatly with the awesome line up of companies we are working with during this podcast. We like to think of each of our sponsors / partners as part of our extended Whiskey On The Rails family. When you get to pair up such great products, it is really fun to come out and record every week because we stand behind everything we talk about and enjoy each of the products we get to use during the show. Even Eric and Rob get along during the podcast because of these great products and that right there is a miracle..
