Taking A Tour In Door County With A Single Malt Whisky

The guys are back from their Caribbean hiatus and are thirsty for something to drink.    Well in this week’s episode, we are still drinking some whisky that Rob brought back from the great state of Wisconsin.   Thanks to the Mars Cheese Castle (yes it is a magical place) we were able to pick up some Door County Single Malt Whisky for our drinking pleasure while we were getting back behind the mics.   We have some great stories, we got to enjoy new whisky and finally we are back drinking again..  Check out this podcast and get you some Door County Whisky..   Train..  Train..

Alright, in this podcast we had a slight change from our usual program agenda and didn’t’ include a cigar into our discussion.    No major reason why but we felt that it was a great time to just sit down, circle the wagons from our past vacation and enjoy some new whisky.   This week, we introduced Door County onto the rails for our drinking pleasure.    We say that because this was an impulse purchase while leaving the state of Wisconsin.   Rob wanted another local bottle of whiskey (or in this case whisky) and the bottle from Door County caught his attention.

Now this Single Malt Whisky certainly surprised both hosts when we opened it.    Now we are going to save a bunch of the reviews for the podcast but the one thing we will discuss in this blog is how smooth this whisky was during our review.     We say that because a lot of spirits that we get from local distilleries, we find they are white lightening when it comes to the burn of that spirit..  Now we aren’t complaining, we do enjoy the burn but that burn never even showed up for this review.  This has to be one of the smoothest whisky’s we have tried in quite a while.     Granted the 3-5 times distilled process of this single malt really plays into that smooth taste.      We did have some variance in the taste and ways to enjoy this whisky, which we talk more about during the podcast..   You know what, just stay tuned for the podcast coming out on Whiskey Wednesday..

Now, we have said it before and we will keep saying it again.   We are so very greatly with the awesome line up of companies we are working with during this podcast.    We like to think of each of our sponsors / partners as part of our extended Whiskey On The Rails family.   When you get to pair up such great products, it is really fun to come out and record every week because we stand behind everything we talk about and enjoy each of the products we get to use during the show.      Even Eric and Rob get along during the podcast because of these great products and that right there is a miracle..
